This recipe is great as a side-dish, or a meal on it's own. The apple adds a refreshing feeling reminiscent of springtime sitting on the patio.

Add 1 cup quinoa to 2 ½ cups boiling water.

Calculate your daily protein requirement:

Average Woman: 0.7g/kg (body weight)

Average Man: 0.8 g/kg

Active Woman: 1.0 g/kg

Active Man: 1.2 g/kg

Athlete 1.5+ g/kg

Example:

An average woman who weighs 170 lbs.

170 divided by 2.2 = 77.3 kg

0.7g x 77.3 = 54 g
